I’ve put a lot of energy towards this years election… done a lot of research… listened to both sides…
I can now say, with an incredible ease, that I have a very large distaste for the Republican party. The very foundation of the party reeks of intolerance.
I would have to say that my main issue with the party would have to be it’s deep entrenchment with the religious right. It’s sad to me that the country has been steadily moving backwards by accepting religion further into our government. The founding fathers of the country drafted the constitution while keeping in mind all the follies that they had seen in England and the rest of the world. Religion was left out of that document for a very solid reason.
We currently live in a religious tolerant country with a government that is (supposed to be) a religious tolerant government and I just want to be sure that things stay that way…
John McCain’s campaign has been a very weird one. A few words that come to mind when I remind myself of the campaign he has ran… Fear.. Disrespectful.. Bad decisions.. And what about Sarah Palin? If anyone out there thinks Bush isn’t doing so hot, trust me… She would be even worse. ..Which is nearly impossible to comprehend.
But anyways… Yes, I’m an Obama Believer. I think that he has the power to renew the worlds respect in the United States and bring back a democratic economy.
As if the last couple of weeks haven’t been stressful enough, tomorrow will take things to a whole new level. Emotions are high, and regardless of who wins, close to half of the country will be disappointed.
I just hope the election plays out close to how the polls have been reading. This country needs change and a new direction. We need it now.
P.S. Go Vote.
